Selenium is a set of open source APIs/tools used for functional automation testing. Selenium provides flexibility in designing robust test scripts compatible with various browsers like Firefox, Chrome, IE, Safari, Opera and Operating Systems including Windows, Linux, and Apple OS X. It also supports all popular development languages such as Java, .Net(C#), PHP, Ruby, Perl, and Python, meaning there is no dependency on language when it comes to automation testing.
